Today’s the big day! Friday’s never felt so good! I’m one of the first people to get their hands on the new, state-of-the-art iPhone 12 Pro. You all know my obsession with Apple products far precedes the creation of this company. In fact, Apple products have had a hand in helping Mike and I grow our business. It’s important that – being story-tellers – we have the most advanced technology in order to provide the highest quality service to our clients. Obviously, we’re not filming on our phones, but the tech inside the phone enables us to do our jobs faster and easier allows us to create the best possible product and provide our 5-star service.

I’ll be trading in my older iPhone 11 Pro Max so it can go on to live another life as someone else’s trusty device. Though I’m a bit sad that I have to say goodbye to this amazing phone, I’m so excited to unbox this impressive tech! Before I show you the unboxing experience, let’s review some of this smartphone’s features.

1.  Size Matters

You know what they say about people with big phones…we need big pockets! Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the iPhone 11 Pro Max, but it was just a hair too big for me. At a 6.5” display, my hands (and pants) have to stretch to hold this conglomerate of computing power.

On the other hand, Apple also released the iPhone 12 mini, a 5.4” display that doesn’t have all of the functionality that I need from the 12 Pro.

Because Apple came out with three different size runs, I sized down to the “standard” option with this new iPhone. Like I said, the Max was just a little too big – certainly not a complaint, but when Apple released the 12 Pro at this size, I had to jump at the opportunity!

Measuring in at 6.1”, the iPhone 12 Pro is in the goldielocks zone; not too big, and not too small. Just the right size for me.

2. Performance.

It’s a staple of an Apple product. How well does it perform? This iPhone 12 will boast never-before-seen computing speed with more than 11 Billion transistors in its ARM-based A14 chip. For the record, that’s 40% more than what we see in the iPhone 11’s A13 chip. As a side note, we talked about the importance of Apple’s now-internal chip creation in this summer’s blog here.

Speed is the name of the game and Apple’s in the lead. With the advent of nation-wide 5G – which is alleged to be as much as 100x faster than 4G – the iPhone 12 gets a leg up on its predecessor.

With the A14 – a 40% faster chip – combined with the fastest network the nation has seen certainly points to another blockbuster device from Apple. Lightning fast downloads and high-quality steaming are going to enable me to do my job even better. Let’s see how fast this phone really is!

3.  Camera

Ahh the main course. One of the main reasons for my investment. The iPhone 12 Pro camera…or system of cameras, I should say. With the expanding tech in these cameras, I never miss a shot. No matter the setting, I’ll have an amazing tool ready to capture any moment – at a moment’s notice.

I can use the tools in this three-camera system to take stunning, ultra-wide angle shots, beautifully detailed portraits, or even a jaw-dropping nighttime photo on the optical zoom lens. And don’t even get me started on video! The sheer processing power mixed with the three lenses are unmatched in this creative collection of chips.
